Plants That Heal
For centuries native Americans have used plants and plant extracts for medicine. Recently, there has been a resurgence of interest in Western society in the use of botanical therapies for the relief of various illnesses such as:- Fresh aloe gel to relieve burns and sunburns
- Garlic to improve blood lipids and reduce the risk of blood clots
- St John's Wort to treat mild and moderate forms of depression
- Cranberry juice to fight urinary tract infections
- Echinacea to stimulate the immune system and combat colds and flu symptoms
- Feverfew to reduce the frequency and severity of migraines
- Valerian as a mild sedative for the treatment of anxiety and insomnia
- Eucalyptus oil as a decongestant and provide relief for coughs
