According to a survey by Consumer Report’s on Health, health claims made for foods are often overstated or based on flimsy evidence.

Skin Health
- In an Australian study, skin damage and wrinkling during aging was influenced by the types of food consumed. A high intake of vegetables, legumes and olive oil was found to be protective against the skin damage while a high intake of meat, dairy, butter, margarine and sugar products appeared to have an adverse effect.
